What a lovely little video, Tom. My word, they're a lot smarter than we give them credit for, aren't they? I gave your video a thumbs up.

We have two different types of bird boxes attached to the bungalow on two walls never had any residents yet.I cannot put them any higher on the walls and do not have any high trees in the garden. It does not help when the cats can get up onto the roof of the bungalow and could pounce downwards

Camera in the box, Thats a brilliant set up and got me thinking. " why have I never thought of that ?" Like Peter we have a heavy cat population so bird boxes don't work but, I know where , or where abouts they build their nests so, I now am making plans for next years project,

Tom

You put that stuffed Hedgehog in your greenhouse and it frightened away your hedgehogs, and similar things are used to frighten away birds from fields where crops are growing, the Scarecrows.

Your thing could have been called a Scarehog

Funny thing about that Tommy tee, the crow family is the most intelligent of the feathered creatures, It can imitate sounds almost as good as a parrot if it has a mind to do so, By putting a fake model of a man or beast in a field is not going to fool a crow The objects are very pleasing to passers by and the creativity is appreciated by many,So much so that many villages have Scarecrow festivals in the Summer months, Here's one we saw riding our bikes in Parbold last year
